Beautiful Life Bowls began in 2023 with Doug and Tammie Hickey, who, after careers in education and retail sales, decided to embrace semi-retirement and start a family business inspired by one of their favorite food trucks in Montana.

Their vision was simple: spend more time with family, share delicious and wholesome food, and enjoy new adventures throughout Colorado. Having grandkids old enough to join in made the experience even sweeter. What better way to create lasting memories than working side by side, teaching the next generation the value of hard work, entrepreneurship, and family?

Just two months after completing their first season in Colorado, life took an unexpected turn. While back in Montana, Doug suffered a severe brain injury that left him in a coma for months and forever changed their family's lives.

As Doug began his long road to recovery, Tammie faced the challenge of caring for him while keeping their dream alive. With the love and support of their grandkids and family, Beautiful Life Bowls continued serving the community, but the family knew this new season of life would require a different approach.

In the summer of 2026, Tammie's daughter Amy and her husband Dan stepped in to carry on what they had started. With a new, fully drivable food truck and their children by their side, they began the next chapter of Beautiful Life Bowls.

Today, Beautiful Life Bowls remains a true family business, built on the same values that inspired it from the beginning: family, community, healthy living, and making beautiful memories along the way.

While our journey has taken some unexpected turns, our mission remains the same: to bring people together over delicious açaí bowls, spread a little happiness, and remind everyone that even through life's challenges, there is still so much beauty to be found.
